Barns Bulletin #5

This month we've got awards, international trips and Freestyle anniversaries...

So it’s the end of February, although this week here at the Barns, it feels a bit more like the start of summer ☀️. We have been working hard this month, travelling abroad to visit clients, attending thought leadership events and making the most of the unseasonal sunshine in-between times! To get all the details on what went down in the second month of 2019, read on:

Recognition time…

First off, massive congratulations to Rohini, who has passed the 3 month mark with us at Freestyle; although it feels like she has been here much longer! Rohini has slotted into our team perfectly, and has been working well with a variety of clients as well as our internal team. Top job Rohini! 👍

Another Freestyler celebrating an anniversary this month was one of our Digital Executives, Claudia! Claudia has worked tirelessly over the last few months and taken on important roles with some of our biggest clients, while also positively contributing to our culture and atmosphere at the barns; she even brought in treats for everyone else on her one year anniversary! Congratulations Claudia, keep up the great work!

Our monthly “Sheepies” meeting is a chance to reflect on the last month, and look at what's coming up in the near future. This month’s Sheepies meeting was full of encouraging news, as well as a push for us all to “Steal a day”, where we can take a day out of the office to go and do something fun and educational, to get our creative juices flowing and help us stay fresh.

The “Sheepie” award this month was won by our super Client Services Director, Kay! Kay has been doing a great job of switching between different roles and projects over the last month and she is even a guest speaker at the upcoming Birmingham Marketing Meetup! Congrats on a very well-deserved Sheepies award, Kay! We are very lucky to have you!

Your newest Episerver specialists…

In other news, we are delighted to have achieved the title of Episerver CMS Specialists! To be more specific, it means that we’ve worked hard in order to have:
- a minimum of three Episerver CMS service live sites
- no fewer than three active certified developer
- at least one customer case study.

This means Freestyle has been identified as an organisation with deep implementation experience and our specialisation classification will now appear as an additional “badge” in Episerver’s searchable Partner directory, exciting stuff! 🤓

A French connection…

A few Freestylers had the pleasure of travelling all the way to Paris earlier in the month to meet with some of our French clients. Aside from talking business, there were trips to the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre and plenty of French cuisine; all travelled to via zippy electric scooters! Overall it was a great trip and left those of us who stayed in the UK extremely jealous (especially of the food)!

International Women’s Day 2019 - Balance for better

In other news, a number of us have been working on an exciting project over the past few weeks, for with International Women’s Day 2019 on 8th March. We have been working hard to gather a bunch of video material, interviews and IG boomerangs with a view to creating a short video that highlights how we ensure equality at Freestyle. We pride ourselves on the fact that we have an equal balance of men and women within our agency, and work hard to foster an environment where everyone is treated equally. We are excited to have the opportunity to document this and share our unique culture with people outside of the agency. Keep an eye out on our social channels for the official video announcement. In the meantime, check out some of these behind the scenes snaps to get an idea of what we’ve been up to:

People > Dogs?

We have also hit a new milestone at Freestyle this month; for the first time ever, our most liked pictures of the month is of people, not dogs!! Check out the top 3 February Freestyle photos below:

That’s all for this month. As always, keep an eye on our socials to stay up to date on our activity as we jump into March.
