Freestyle Achieves B Corp Certification: A Milestone in Purpose-Driven Business

We’re thrilled to announce that Freestyle is officially a certified B Corp with an impressive impact score of 86.9

This achievement marks a monumental moment for us, representing the culmination of years of dedication and hard work towards aligning our business practices with our values. As a majority female-owned and led independent digital agency with over 27 years of experience, Freestyle has always been driven by the belief in doing good beyond the everyday. Becoming part of the B Corp community feels like a natural progression in our journey towards making a positive impact.

Freestyle’s Co-Founder and CEO, Suzanne Linton, shares her excitement: "For nearly three decades, our agency has operated with a deep-seated commitment to making a positive impact, not only in the digital landscape but also in our broader community and environment. Joining the B Corp community validates our efforts and inspires us to continue pushing boundaries."

The B Corp certification process evaluates a company's performance across five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. It requires meeting stringent standards and demonstrating socially and environmentally responsible practices across various aspects of operations, from energy consumption to employee welfare. Freestyle’s dedication to embedding purpose beyond profit is further solidified by legally integrating these commitments into our company articles.

As a certified B Corp, Freestyle joins a global network of over 8,000 businesses committed to redefining success in business. In the UK alone, the B Corp community boasts more than 1,900 companies, including renowned brands such as The Guardian, innocent, Patagonia, and Abel & Cole.

Co-Founder and Business Director, Alan Cooper, emphasises the significance of this achievement: "As demands for accountability and transparency continue to rise within our industry and the broader business landscape, Freestyle's adoption of the B Corp ethos marks a progressive stride towards fostering ethical business standards within our sector."

Managing Director, Emma Simkiss, adds, "Freestyle's journey as a B Corp signifies more than just a certification; it's a testament to our unwavering commitment to leveraging business as a force for good. Suzanne and Alan’s dedication to building a purpose-driven, people-focused business is truly inspiring. Our B Corp journey reinforces the belief that profitability and purpose are not mutually exclusive but integral components of sustainable success.

Becoming a B Corp has prompted us to thoroughly examine every facet of our business, from our overarching purpose and ethical principles to our day-to-day operations and policies. This is a journey of continuous improvement for us as we continue to evolve and grow our business and we look forward to sharing that with those who choose to partner with us as well as others in our community.”
