This is an exciting opportunity to join a proudly independent, certified BCorp digital agency to support on one of our key client accounts as a Digital Project Manager.

The detail

Sitting in the Delivery team, this diverse role is a good mix of product ownership, project management and client support. You’ll be as happy liaising with the client as you are problem solving and coordinating our team of specialists to deliver first rate digital deliverables. With an eye for getting into the detail, you’ll spend time getting under the hood our clients business critical digital products and website. 

Your role in a nutshell:

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining exceptional client relationships, tracking client revenue, and ensuring the smooth operation of digital projects. You will establish yourself as a trusted advisor and oversee the day-to-day management of various projects. 

This role is  primarily focused on one of our key clients, which occupies the majority of this role's time. 

Communication is a key aspect of this role, and you will be responsible for providing regular updates to clients on project status and financial matters, hosting calls, and handling communication and administration tasks to support the Client Services Director and other Project Managers. You’ll be tasked with writing Statements of Work (SoWs), estimating project costs, and ensuring prompt progress by chasing clients for answers and pushing quotes through the studio.

With your Project Manager hat on, you will be vital to the smooth running of client projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and expectations are managed, understood, and met.

You will collaborate with our talented development, client services, QA and creative teams to ensure efficient project execution. Working with our Operations Director, you will be involved in scoping, planning, and budgeting projects through UX, design, development and deployment.

What the day to day might look like (your responsibilities!);

Project Management

  • End-to-end digital product delivery for a number of smaller client accounts
  • Product ownership across one of our key client accounts, developing a deep understanding of their suite of digital products, and specifically their enterprise website (Optimizely)
  • Scoping and estimating projects, creating clear and detailed statement of work documents for clients
  • Tracking project risk and change, maintaining project control documentation through the course of the project, and managing escalation processes as appropriate
  • Resource planning and scheduling of projects – including freelancers
  • Overseeing the project’s financial budget, notifying stakeholders of key cost implications, changes to budget, spending and cost changes
  • Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Organising and running internal training on websites and functionality
  • Working with our QA team to develop detailed acceptance criteria for testing 
  • Effectively using (and championing) delivery tools such as Jira, Float and Smartsheet. 

Client Services Support

  • Develop and nurture outstanding relationships with both the agency team and client contacts.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on project status and financial matters.
  • Host calls and handle communication tasks to support the Client Services Director in the running of this key client account
  • Chase clients for answers and push them along on Service Level Agreements (SLA), promises, call notes, and actions.
  • Push quotes and estimations through the studio promptly to ensure timely progress.

Qualities that will help you smash it;

  • Technically focused, with a background in technical project delivery
  • Solid understanding of website CMS systems, and their implementation
  • Understanding of approaches to UX, design and development of digital products
  • Experience creating clear, concise and detailed statement of work documents and estimates
  • Ability and desire to manage multiple projects and project teams simultaneously
  • Expert user of project management tools (for example Jira, Smartsheet) 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Impeccable time management and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness at all times, to ensure projects deliver financially
  • Confidence to lead teams and work with senior client stakeholders
  • Ability to coach and mentor other members of the team in PM best practice, amongst other things
  • Drive and determination to improve efficiencies wherever possible

We’re a flexible and hybrid workplace. Everyone comes to the barns at least once a week. We spend the rest of the time split between the barns and home (or a coffee shop, or wherever else you do your best work!).

Your core hours

We embrace flexibility at Freestyle. Our core hours are between 10am and 4pm but you can flex within that to work around your life and needs…from school runs to dog walks, we’ve got you covered!
